PHOENIX, AZ (February 12, 2008) PhoenixSoft, Inc. has completed integrating IP transcoding capability within its Cirrus Softswitch platform. The company said this project represents itss continued commitment to streamlining and enhancing network operations for its carrier customers.

The announcement said that increased functionality within IP networks often means adding more components, and that multiple products increase network complexity and the risk of incompatibility. In addition, carriers typically will have to work with several different vendors when network issues arise. By integrating functionality within the Cirrus Softswitch instead of adding another component, PhoenixSoft said it has a tested solution that simplifies network architecture and avoids incompatible products from multiple vendors. To accomplish integrated IP transcoding, PhoenixSoft selected the TelcoBridges’ Media Gateway for the Cirrus Softswitch. TelcoBridges provides telecom platforms for developers of carrier-grade VoIP and TDM solutions for the media gateway, switching, and value-added services markets.
