Consumers Can Pay Bills With Billeo Directory

SANTA CLARA, CA (June 10, 2010) Billeo, a suite of Online Assistants for online transactions, says it has expanded its Biller Directory to help consumers pay their bills instantly with a credit, debit or prepaid card at more than 10,000 companies across 26 categories - from cable service providers to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Billeo says its Biller Directory now covers more than 15,000 companies with two-thirds accepting card-based bill pay.
Visa and Discover already use Billeo's Biller Directory to provide customers a one-stop listing of billers that accept card payments online. Consumers also have access to information on billers that charge convenience fees and those that allow auto-payments.
"More than 31 million consumers pay bills through their banks' websites, but millions more opt to pay directly on a company's website to take advantage of paying with a card. Supporting card transactions makes the financial institutions' websites the sensible place for customers to complete all their bill payments," said Murali Subbarao, founder and CEO of Billeo. "By integrating Billeo's Biller Directory, financial institutions can expand the features and functionality of their existing bill pay services without having to handle the buildout themselves - improving customer experience and increasing revenue."
Consumers can find billers by name, category or ZIP code, so they don't have to visit each biller's website separately. They click on a biller's name and Billeo brings them directly to the biller's website to complete the payment. Billeo extends the Directory's value further by guiding consumers throughout the whole payment process - from remembering passwords and autofilling payment information to saving payment confirmations. Consumers also can get an overview of payments and due dates to stay organized and ensure they never miss a payment.
Highlighting companies that take credit, debit and prepaid card payments means Billeo helps consumers earn valuable card rewards. Billeo estimates that its users already have earned $1.4 million in rewards just by paying their bills and shopping online.
