Never Too Young to Text
8 to 11 Year-Olds Embrace Hasbro’s CHATNOW Communicators

PAWTUCKET, RI (Aug. 1, 2005) The clues are out and the search is on. Kids at summer camps across the country are on a hunt - a CHATNOW Scavenger Hunt - and there has never been a scavenger hunt like this before. In addition to using their creativity and ingenuity, campers will also need the special features of Hasbro’s CHATNOW communicators to complete their hunt.

Hasbro’s CHATNOW is a new two-way communicator that lets kids talk and send text messages up to 2 miles away, as well as take pictures. During the Hunts teammates use its wireless chat feature to collaborate and solve challenges. Campers also unscramble clues sent to them via CHATNOW text messenger, retrieve information from their buddy lists, and take pictures with its built-in digital camera.

More than 500,000 summer campers will participate in CHATNOW Scavenger Hunts or see a sneak preview of the CHATNOW video while at camp - before CHATNOW products arrive in stores later this month. The CHATNOW Scavenger Hunt is Hasbro’s first large-scale product introduction at summer camps. The promotions are produced by Forever Wild, specialists at summer camp events.
