TSYS Unveils Its Agenda for Connected Mobility
Intended to Support Commerce for the Digitally Active
COLUMBUS, GA (May 16, 2012) TSYS (NYSE: TSS) has announced its agenda for connected mobility to support commerce for digitally active consumers -- those accustomed to navigating their daily lives with smart phones, tablets, game systems, electronic readers and computers. This initiative, they say, will enable consumers and businesses to connect and communicate in real time through a variety of devices that support mobility, business applications and commerce.

The agenda will offer technology, including API interfaces and consumer-facing applications, to support any mobile network operator, manufacturer, wallet provider, applications provider or payments network. It includes three themes -- payments, communications and commerce. The payments theme includes NFC and cloud-based products with both payment and acceptance capabilities; the communications theme includes consumer-directed alerts, transactions and notification preference products; and the commerce theme will include wallets, offers and financial management tools. TSYS solutions address multiple customer segments across multiple generations, from Millennials to Baby Boomers, and segments such as small businesses, corporations and the underserved.

TSYS customers will benefit from this initiative by taking advantage of TSYS' updated systems, which have been integrated to support the connectivity, flexibility and expandability required to support the 24 billion connected devices expected in 2020, up from nine billion today. Mobile devices alone will grow 100 percent from more than six billion today to 12 billion in 2020, according to research released by GSMA* in October 2011.

TSYS says the initiative addresses consumers' demands for products and applications that allow them to conduct commerce when, where and how they choose in their businesses and lives. These consumers want a choice in the way they pay for goods and services, moving from a traditional piece of plastic, to a mobile phone, tablet or through any devices available.

"Two years ago the devices of choice were smart phones; now they are tablets. Regardless of the devices used tomorrow, our focus on people-centered payments paves the way for this agenda, with functionality to support mobility, applications and commerce across any device," said Paul Bridgewater, group executive of Global Product, TSYS. "Today's consumers prefer trusted alternative channels for increased mobility to facilitate online business and commerce -- and they expect security, reliability and a seamless purchase experience that is simple and intuitive. This agenda truly puts people at the center of payments."

TSYS will be utilizing its in-house expertise, existing relationships and new certified partners to support these solutions. Under this agenda, a number of solutions and products are available now, and others will be expanded through a series of timed releases over the next 12-24 months to further address today's connected, mobile consumers.
